Crystal Current (5, A.P. Indy--Dream Supreme, by Seeking the Gold), a stakes-winning full sister to GISW Majestic Warrior, was hammered down for $3.1 million. A regally-bred colt by Galileo (Ire) and out of two-time Australian Horse of the Year Makybe Diva (GB) sold for A$1.5 million to lead the first session of the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. Consigned by his breeder, Tony Santic's Makybe, the bay was purchased by Danny O'Brien Racing. The colt is the first foal out of Makybe Diva, who won the G1 Melbourne Cup three straight years 2003-2005.

Speightstown Colt Brings $335K at Fasig-Tipton

A chestnut colt by Speightstown elicited a bid of $335,000 from BC3 Thoroughbreds Tuesday afternoon at Fasig-Tipton's Newtown Paddocks in Lexington. To that point, it was the highest price on the day for a colt. Catalogued as hip 451, the colt is a son of the winnning 13-year-old Bates Motel mare Motel Lass and is a half-brother to stakes winner Stormin' Lyon (Storm Boot).
