An attractive bay colt by Smart Strike--Dixie Holiday (Dixieland Band) was the subject of spirited bidding Tuesday afternoon at the OBS March Sale, falling to xx for a session-topping bid of $400,000. Consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, agent, the Apr. 3 foal is a half-brother to the recently deceased Holiday Runner (Meadowlake), the dam of GISW Seventh Street (Street Cry {Ire}) as well as GSP Reynaldothewizard (Speightstown).

Limehouse Offspring in High Demand at OBSAPR

A daughter of Limehouse out of Deputy's Delight (French Deputy) brought $500,000 at the OBSAPR sale Thursday. The chestnut--who blazed a quarter mile in a bullet :20 2/5 at the breeze-up show--was purchased by trainer Mark Casse, agent. A half-sister to millionaire Delightful Kiss (Kissin Kris), hip 949 was consigned by Craig L. Wheeler, agent for Hobeau Farm Dispersal. Earlier in Thursday's session, a son of Limehouse brought $200,000 from Sagamore Farm, with Bob Feld as agent. He was consigned by Alexandra de Meric & Brandon Rice.

Distorted Humor Half to Point Given Goes for $875,000

Hip 194, a striking filly by Distorted Humor who counts Horse of the Year Point Given as her half-brother, brought $875,000 near the end of selling Tuesday night at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Selected Sale. Robert E and Lawana Low were the winning bidders. The May 7-foaled miss was bred and consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds.

Heart Shaped (f, 4, Storm Cat--Twenty Eight Carat, by Alydar), in foal to A.P. Indy, was hammered down to Blanford Bloodstock for $1.55 million at the second session of Keeneland November Tuesday. Hawk Wing Filly Goes for 300K at Tatts

Shamwari Lodge (Ire) (Hawk Wing--Ripalong {Ire}, by Revoque {Ire}) also made 300,000 guineas when bought by Ed Sackville of Kern Lillingston Bloodstock on behalf of Ronan Burns of Lodge Park Stud. "She was an exceptionally tough racing filly, and that was what we particularly liked," said Sackville. "She also scoped exceptionally well with a grade 1 result. A colt by Distorted Humor out of Stupendous Miss (Dynaformer) fetched a final bid of 320,000gns (about $549,250) to lead the way during Thursday's second and final session of the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale in Newmarket. The Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearlings Sale continued to far outpace last year's renewal as a striking filly by Arch--Royal Sanction (Royal Academy) sold mid-way through Tuesday's second session for $260,000. Bloodstock agent Steve Young signed the ticket for an undisclosed client. The filly, a half to SW Ronja (El Corredor), was consigned by James Herbener on behalf of Louisa Lenehan's Virginia-based Lochlow Farm.
