GI E.P. Taylor S. winner Lahaleeb (Ire) (Redback {GB}–Flames {GB}, by Blushing Flame), sold as a racing prospect, brought a final bid of 1,000,000gns at Tatts December Monday. The three-year-old filly, consigned by trainer Mick Channon's West Ilsley Stables, was bought by John Egan. A 40,000 Euro Goffs November weanling and 70,000gns Tattersalls October yearling, Lahaleeb was campaigned by Mohammed Al-Qatami and K Al-Mudhaf. Channon saddled the bay to victories in the G2 Rockfel S. at two and the G3 Fred Darling Dubai Duty Free S. at three, and to a runner-up finish in the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas. She was let go at 44-1 in the E.P. Taylor, but belied the odds with a rallying score. To date, she has compiled a record of 16-5-2-1 and earnings of $888,157.
