LTBA to Hold Louisiana Yearling Sale Oct. 1

The Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association will host a yearling sale followed by a mixed session under the Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana banner Oct. 1. The sale will be held at the Equine Sales of Louisiana facility in Opelousas, La. and will be limited to 228 stalls at the facility. LTBA Elects Five to Board of Directors

The Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association has elected five members to its Board of Directors. The newly-elected Board members, who will each serve three-year terms, are as follows: Jay Adcock (158), Michelle LaVoice (143), Jim Montgomery (136), Michele Rodriguez (131), Jake Delhomme (126). MK Election Services, an impartial balloting agency, certified the results.

Custom for Carlos Colt Tops Louisiana Sale

A colt by Custom for Carlos (hip 7) topped the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association's 2021 Yearling and Mixed Sale Saturday in Opelousas, Louisiana on a winning bid of $47,000 from Ricky Lagrange. Bred by Larry Romero, the bay is out of speedy 10-time winner Labadeel (Forest Wildcat). He was consigned by Clear Creek Stud, which was responsible for the auction's top seven lots.
