Restricted Access to BBAG October Mixed Sale

BBAG's October Mixed Sale, set for Oct. 16-17, is restricted to 500 people. Both Ireland and the UK have been placed on Germany's COVID-19 High Risk list, as cases of the coronavirus have increased in recent times. In order to attend the sale, a negative COVID-19 test must be taken within 48 hours before arriving in Germany. Certification of the negative COVID-19 test is required for admittance to the sales grounds. The sale begins on Friday at 10 a.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m.

BBAG Breeze Up Sale Delayed

German sales company BBAG has announced that its Spring Breeze Up Sale, initially set for May 22, will be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A new date has not yet been determined. The company's flagship Premier Yearling Sale is scheduled for Sept. 4. German racing officials revealed earlier this month that they hope to re-start racing behind closed doors on May 1, with 23 race meetings through mid-June with just one racecourse staging racing per day.

Prize-Money Upheld for BBAG Sales Races

German auction house BBAG, which runs a series of sales races throughout the season, has warned that the race dates may be subject to change but that the prize-money will not be altered. The German racing authority Deutscher Galopp is currently hoping that racing will be able to resume in the country from May.
