Maria's Mon Colt Tops Early KEEJAN Returns Wednesday

A short yearling by the late Maria's Mon out of the unraced mare La Cucina (Ire) (Last Tyccon {Ire}) brought a final bid of $390,000 to top the early returns at Keeneland January Wednesday. It was easily the highest priced paid for a yearling at the sale so far. The chestnut is a half to MGSW Sir Cherokee (Cherokee Run), as well as Miss Isella (Silver Charm), who captured the GII Falls City H. at Churchill in November. Consigned by Bluewater Sales LLC for breeder Domino Stud of Lexington, the colt was purchased by Ferguson Valley Ranch.
