Irish Thoroughbred Marketing (ITM) has teamed up with Chelmsford City Racecourse in the UK to offer €120,000 in bonuses and sales incentives in 2022.

A €10,000 bonus will be awarded to the owner of the winner of each of 12 races throughout the season if the winning horse is eligible under the 'IRE Incentive' scheme for Irish-breds who are foal levy compliant. The €10,000 is awarded in the form of a sale voucher to be used against a purchase at an Irish bloodstock sale for stock which also meet those criteria.

Chelmsford City's two Listed races, the Chelmer S. and Queen Charlotte S., will each carry a bonus. ITM will also be the official sponsor of the Chelmer S., a six-furlong contest for fillies only on April 28 with a total prize fund of £87,500.

“We are really excited by this agreement with Irish Thoroughbred Marketing as it continues to reinforce our objective to support owners as well as encouraging them to support flagship events at Chelmsford City Racecourse,” said James Sharples, Head of Sales at Chelmsford City.

“We consider it a privilege to be working with ITM and helping us to find innovative ways to help owners and boost racehorse ownership in Great Britain.”

Síle Hayes, the UK market manager for ITM added, “Irish Thoroughbreds have accounted for many of the greats in recent years and we want to keep these phenomenal achievements to the forefront of people's minds, all the while supporting racehorse owners in the UK and Ireland. We are delighted to work with Chelmsford City who have the vision and desire to support British racing and make it more sustainable for owners, breeders and its many stakeholders.”

ITM's British sponsorship portfolio now includes Chelmsford City, York, Doncaster and Newbury.
