Galileo Half-Sister to Escena Leads Day 3 at Goffs

A June-foaled filly by Galileo (Ire)–Claxton's Slew (Seattle Slew) was knocked down to Tom Goff's Blandford Bloodstock for 340,000 euros to head the early proceedings on the third and final day of the Goffs Million sale in Ireland. The bay is a half-sister to Escena (Strawberry Road {Aus}), who carried the silks of Allen Paulson to victory in the 1998 GI Breeders' Cup Distaff en route to an Eclipse Award in the same season. Claxton's Slew was purchased by John Magnier for $3.3 million in foal to Storm Cat at the 2000 Keeneland January sale.
