With Honors made it two-for-two with a good-looking win in the Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf S. as the favorite in a big field. The homebred was impressive in her debut over course and distance July 29, dueling on a fast pace and opening up in the stretch before holding on for a half-length tally over You Missed It (Lookin At Lucky). Bet down to 2-1 in this 12-horse affair, With Honors broke sharply from the outermost stall and stalked the pace of a longshot from second through slow fractions of :23.97 and :49.97. Taking charge on the early part of the turn as the frontrunner packed it in, With Honors once again went clear in the lane and once again held sway from the late charge of You Missed It, taking a half-length decision.

The winner's second dam was 2006's Champion 2-year-old filly and GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies victress Dreaming of Anna (Rahy). That mare is a full to MGSW Lewis Michael and a half to MGSW/GISP Justenuffhumor (Distorted Humor). This is also the extended family of Champion grass horse and influential sire Kitten's Joy (El Prado {Ire}) and MGISW Precious Kitten (Catienus). All Her Class is a half to GSW Dreamologist (Tapit) and GISP Fast Anna (Medaglia d'Oro).

“She's obviously a talented filly, but she's a little bit aggressive and we've got to work on getting her to relax,” winning trainer Keith Desormeaux said. “Thanks to Alex Solis (Jr.) and his guys for giving me a chance with these young horses. I was a little concerned about the outside post, bad handicapper that I am. I should have known that with her speed she could clear the horses to her inside and get a nice run into the turn. You can see that's exactly what she did. Then she actually settled pretty nicely. Good job by Flavien (Prat). We'll go to Santa Anita for the Surfer Girl and then hopefully she's ready for the big event ($1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf).” Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
