+BOMBARDEO (c, 2, Violence&log=#tot">Violence–Blitzing {SW & GSP, $134,767}, by Montbrook) was backed down to 9-5 for a barn whose horses generally need some experience to show their best, but he proved well-meant with a front-running victory. Looking to become the ninth winner for his promising freshman sire (by Medaglia d'Oro), the $67,000 Keeneland September acquisition broke running from his rail draw and immediately seized command. Showing the way into the lane, he kept finding to deny longshot Restrainedvengence (Hold Me Back) by three-quarters of a length. Bombardeo's victory came on the heels of back-to-back maiden special weight wins for fellow Violence juveniles at Del Mar Sunday. Bombardeo's aptly named dam was a debut-winning juvenile on the Churchill dirt in 2007 before finishing second by a neck in Saratoga's GIII Schuylverville S. She romped in the Letellier Memorial S. at Fair Grounds late that season, but never won again. She was fourth in her lone turf effort. Blitzing produced a Verrazano colt in 2016, and sold for $5,000 carrying a New Year's Day filly at last year's Keeneland November sale. Her dam We Are Strike Ng (Smart Strike) annexed the 1998 GIII Hillsborough H. going long on the lawn. Sales history: $37,000 RNA wnlg '15 FTKNOV. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $36,000.
