Blue Buff got pounded at the windows late into 6-5 favoritism and ran to the money with a 'TDN Rising Star' performance at Gulfstream. Sporting a worktab lined with bullets from last summer at Monmouth as well as Palm Meadows this winter, Blue Buff was scrubbed on early to keep pace from third through a :23.50 quarter while traveling on the inside. He appeared to be spinning his wheels entering the turn, but found new life once tipped out into the three-path. The gray swept to the fore just inside the eighth pole and leveled off nicely from there to graduate going away by three lengths over fellow firster Copper Town (Speightstown).
