An auction of stallion seasons and options to benefit the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation's Blackburn Facility will be held Monday, Feb. 6 at Fasig-Tipton shortly after the conclusion of the opening day of trade at the Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale. The stallion season roster includes Tonalist, Constitution, 2016 leading freshman sire Dialed In, Bayern, Upstart, Fed Biz and Midshipman. The function will take place during a complimentary cocktail party in the Kentucky Room on the Fasig-Tipton sales grounds. In addition to live bidding on site, interested parties may also bid by phone (contact Diana Pikulski at 802-233-5377 to register). The cocktail party is being sponsored by Head of Plains Partners and Madaket Stables. The TRF Second Chances program at Lexington's Blackburn Correctional Facility opened 17 years ago. At the farm, as part of a vocational training program taught by veteran horseman Linda Dyer, inmates rehabilitate and care for the 50-60 horses on 100 acres. For additional information, contact Diana Pikulski at the above number or Sue Finley at (732) 747-8060.
