Girvin (Tale of Ekati), a narrow victor of the GI betfair.com Haskell Invitational S. July 30, drilled a bullet five furlongs in :59.98 (1/11) over Saratoga's Oklahoma training track Saturday in preparation for the Aug. 26 GI Travers S. With jockey Robby Albarado at the controls, the dark bay breezed in company with fellow sophomore Line Judge (Spring at Last).

“He worked unbelievable today,” trainer Joe Sharp said. “He went in 59 and four and he out-worked Line Judge, who is no slouch and a stakes winner in his own right. He's doing very well right now and was really moving out there.”

GI Preakness S. victor Cloud Computing (Maclean's Music) covered five panels in 1:01.65 (11/11) on the Spa's main track Saturday with regular rider Javier Castellano aboard. Trainer Chad Brown said a final decision on whether the colt, who finished fifth in the GII Jim Dandy S. last out July 29, would run in the Travers will be made Monday.

“It went good, Brown said. “I won't make any decision yet until I talk to the owners. I'm going to give myself until Monday. I want to see how the horse comes out of the work, take time to talk to the owners, and think about it. He couldn't have worked any better. I was very happy with the work, and Javier was pleased.”
