A number of juveniles with strong established form take on some well-bred newcomers in a salty Keeneland finale Thursday. Juddmonte homebred American Patrol (American Pharoah) will be sent out by Bill Mott, who trained his half-sister Emollient (Empire Maker) to local all-weather wins in the 2013 GI Central Bank Ashland S. and GI Juddmonte Spinster S. as well as a pair of highest-level victories going 10 panels on the grass. Emollient has already produced Irish MGSP Peace Charter (GB) (War Front), and dam Soothing Touch (Touch Gold) is also responsible for SW/MGISP dirt router Hofburg (Tapit) and SW/GSP grass runner Courtier (Pioneerof the Nile), who graduated over course and distance as an October juvenile in 2014.

Triple Crown winner American Pharoah will also be represented by Jack Sisterson pupil Kentucky Pharoah. Calumet paid $200,000 for dam Strut the Course (Strut the Stage), Canada's 2014 champion older mare and a dual Grade II winner on the lawn, at KEENOV '16. This is her first foal.

Burrow (Candy Ride {Arg}) was a $150,000 KEESEP yearling and $200,000 OBSAPR buy off a :10 flat breeze. Representing the GI Kentucky Oaks-winning connections of Flurry Racing Stables and trainer Brad Cox along with David Flanigan, the bay son of GSW Letgomyecho (Menifee) is a half to this year's GI Runhappy H. Allen Jerkens S. hero Echo Town (Speightstown); 2017 GIII Withers S. winner J Boys Echo (Mineshaft); GSP juvenile Unbridled Outlaw (Unbridled's Song); and MSP turf 2-year-old Dragic (Broken Vow).
