Tattersalls Releases December Mares Catalogue

Tattersalls has released the catalogue for its December Mares Sale on Nov. 29 to Dec. 2, with 1168 fillies and mares catalogued including huge representation from Godolphin, Shadwell and Juddmonte, which bring 224 between them.

The Tattersalls December Mares Sale catalogue features previously announced headliners like Sunday Times (GB) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}) (lot 1810), the dam of Breeders' Cup winner Newspaperofrecord (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}) carrying a full sibling; listed-winning and Group 1-placed 2-year-old filly Flotus (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}) (lot 1798); and dual Group 1 winner Amazing Maria (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) (lot 1876) as part of the Sir Robert Ogden dispersal, and other headline lots unveiled on Friday include Mondelice (GB) (Montjeu {Ire}) (lot 1756), the dam of rising middle-distance talent Dubai Honour (Ire) (Pride Of Dubai {Aus}) in foal to New Bay (GB); G1 EP Taylor S. winner Blond Me (Ire) (Tamayuz {GB}) (lot 1837) in foal to Siyouni (Fr) and Breeders' Cup and Classicwinner Flotilla (Fr) (Mizzen Mast) (lot 1836) in foal to Sea The Moon (Ger) as part of a partial dispersal from Al Shahania Stud; G1 Preis der Diana victress Penelopa (GB) (Giant's Causeway) (lot 1603) in foal to Mehmas (Ire); G1 Grosser Preis von Bayern winner and Group 3 producer Temida (Ire) (Oratorio {Ire}) (lot 1602) also in foal to Sea The Moon; G2 Prix de Malleret winner Waldlied (GB) (New Approach {Ire}) (lot 1839), a three-quarter sister to G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Waldgeist (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in foal to Kingman (GB) with her third foal; dual group winner and Group 1-placed 4-year-old filly Cayenne Pepper (Ire) (Australia {GB}) (lot 1840); last year's G1 Prix Marcel Boussac scorer Tiger Tanaka (Ire) (Clodovil {Ire}) (lot 1822); and this year's G3 Sceptre S. winner Just Beautiful (GB) (Pride Of Dubai {Aus}) (lot 1739). Godolphin brings 101 fillies and mares to Park Paddocks, including the stakes-winning Sarinda (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) (lot 1783) and Under The Stars (Ire) (Night Of Thunder {Ire}) (lot 1790), both in foal to Frankel (GB), as well as stakes winners Dancing Sands (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) (lot 1511), Lady Liberty (Ire) (Shirocco {Ger}) (lot 1513) and Yellow Rosebud (Ire) (Jeremy) (lot 1788) in foal to Cracksman (GB), Earthlight (Ire) and Too Darn Hot (GB), respectively, and the stakes-producing Zam Zoom (Ire) (Dalakhani {Ire}) (lot 1786) in foal to Ghaiyyath (Ire).

Shadwell's 93 offerings include fillies and mares that trace back to the families of Sheikh Hamdan's homebred champions like Alhaarth (Ire), Bahri, Eswarah (GB), Ghanaati, Lahudood (GB), Mehthaaf, Nashwan, Shadayid, Taghrooda (GB), and this season's standout miler Baaeed (GB).

The Juddmonte consignment is a perennial December Sale feature, and the 30 fillies and mares comprising the consignment this year include half-sisters to Group 1 winners Epicuris (GB) (Rail Link {GB}), Quadrilateral (GB) (Frankel {GB}) and Winsili (GB) (Dansili {GB}).
