Dermot Weld is hunting for his second consecutive edition of the G1 Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas, and he saddles Tahiyra (Ire) (Siyouni {Fr}), who enters on the back of a strong second in the English equivalent. Also represented by Tarawa (Ire) (Shamardal), Weld faces a strong contingent from Ballydoyle, among others, with GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies heroine Meditate (Ire) (No Nay Never), who renews her rivalry with the former, the best of her rivals.

ASPEN GROVE (IRE), Justify–Data Dependent (More Than Ready)
Owner: Craig Bernick
Breeder: Glen Hill Farm
Trainer: James Stack
Pedigree Notes/Form Analysis: Already a juvenile Group 3 winner, she was third in the G3 Carnelscourt S. and her dam is a half-sister to G1 Moyglare Stud S. winner Skitter Scatter (Scat Daddy). Her ratings have steadily improved and more progression is likely, especially as her sire did his best work during the American Classics.

BREEGE (GB), Starspangledbanner (Aus)–Wowcha (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire})
Owner/Breeder: Chasemore Farm
Trainer: John Quinn
Pedigree Notes/Form Analysis: The multiple group-placed daughter of a half-sister to the G1 Prix Morny-winning sire The Wow Signal (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), Breege has yet to race at three. Sunday will be a stiff test of her abilities.

COMHRA (IRE), Vocalised–Gold Mirage (Galileo {Ire})
Owner: Mrs J S Bolger
Breeder/Trainer: Jim Bolger
Pedigree Notes/Form Analysis: Placed at Group 3 level as a juvenile, the full-sister to G3 Stanerra S. heroine Cimeara (Ire) hails from the same clan as three-time GI Breeders' Cup Mile winner Goldikova (Ire) (Anabaa). She faces an uphill battle, but her trainer is a virtuoso at honing the talent of his charges and is seeking his third Guineas after victories with Finsceal Beo (Ire) (Mr. Greeley) and Pleascach (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) in 2007 and 2015, respectively.

DOWER HOUSE (IRE), Galileo (Ire)–Meow (Ire) (Storm Cat)
Owner: D Smith, Mrs J Magnier, M Tabor, Westerberg
Breeder: Coolmore
Trainer: Aidan O'Brien
Pedigree Notes/Form Analysis: A full-sister to dual Guineas winner and Classic sire Churchill (Ire) and G1 Cheveley Park S. heroine Clemmie (Ire), the stakes-placed Dower House is a granddaughter of the high-class Airwave (GB) (Air Express {Ire}). Although she has yet to secure a stakes victory, a win on Sunday would not be out of place.

ETERNAL SILENCE, War Front–Princess Highway (Street Cry {Ire})
Owner/Breeder: Moyglare Stud Farm
Trainer: Jessica Harrington
Pedigree Notes/Form Analysis: The first black-type horse out of her Group 2-winning and Irish Oaks-placed dam, whose preferred metier was over more real estate. Yet to win, but did finish third behind Tahiyra at Group 1 level at two. Might be more effective as the distances increase.

JACKIE OH (IRE), Galileo (Ire)–Jacqueline Quest (Ire) (Rock Of Gibraltar {Ire})
Owner: Triermore Stud, Mrs John Magnier & Michael Tabor
Breeder: C O P Hanbury
Trainer: Aidan O'Brien
Pedigree Notes/Form Analysis: A debut winner at Naas in March, the chestnut was second at listed level a month later and is the eighth foal of her G1 1000 Guineas-placed dam. The full-sister to GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Line Of Duty (Ire), she will have Seamie Heffernan at the controls and could prove a live chance.

MEDITATE (IRE), No Nay Never–Pembina (Ire) (Dalakhani {Ire})
Owner: M Tabor, D Smith, Mrs J Magnier & Westerberg
Breeder: Lynch-Bages & Rhinestone Bloodstock
Trainer: Aidan O'Brien
Sales History: €360,000 Arqana August yearling
Pedigree Notes/Form Analysis: Last year's GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf heroine is aiming to bounce back from her sixth in the G1 QIPCO 1000 Guineas earlier this month. If she returns to her Breeders' Cup form, a battle royale looms with Tahiyra.

TAHIYRA (IRE), Siyouni (Fr)–Tarana (Ire) (Cape Cross {Ire})
'TDN Rising Star'
Owner: His Highness The Aga Khan
Breeder: His Highness The Aga Khan's Studs SC
Trainer: Dermot Weld
Pedigree Notes/Form Analysis: The third foal of her stakes-winning dam and a half-sister to the incomparable Tarnawa (Ire) (Shamardal). Franked the form of her scintillating G1 Moyglare Stud S. win with a strong second in the G1 QIPCO 1000 Guineas. Her race to lose.

TARAWA (IRE), Shamardal–Tanoura (Ire) (Dalakhani {Ire})
Owner: His Highness The Aga Khan
Breeder: His Highness The Aga Khan's Studs SC
Trainer: Dermot Weld
Pedigree Notes/Form Analysis: Warmed up for this with a second in the G3 Cornelscourt S., and is the ninth foal of her dam. Already a full-sister to G3 Prix du Pin winner Taniyar (Ire) (Shamardal) and a half-sister to two other black-type horses, if she continues her upward trajectory, she will be dangerous.

YOU SEND ME (IRE), Starspangledbanner (Aus)–Coco Rouge (Ire) (Shamardal)
Owner: Craig Bernick, Cayton Park Stud & Mrs Paul Shanahan
Breeder: Joe & Edel Banahan & Michael Smith
Trainer: James Stack
Sales History: 100,000gns Tattersalls October Book 2 yearling
Pedigree Notes/Form Analysis: Improved markedly from two to three and was second in the G3 Amethyst S. earlier this month. Her dam is a half-sister to the dam of GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Line Of Duty (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). Should finish in the top half of the field.
