Tattersalls have catalogued 1,147 foals for their December Foal Sale which runs Nov. 29 to Dec. 2. The catalogue is available on-line and also features a selection of foals from the Ballymacoll Dispersal which are consigned by Norelands Stud. The catalogue contains full and half-brothers and sisters to 171 Group and Listed winners including a half-sister by Dubawi (Ire) to G1 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby and G1 Sheema Classic winner Jack Hobbs (GB) (Halling) (lot 992), offered by Willie Carson's Minster Stud. Another sibling to a Classic winner is lot 1015 from Stauffenberg Bloodstock. This bay filly by Golden Horn (GB) is a half-sister to G1 German Derby winner Sea The Moon (Ger) (Sea The Stars {Ire}).

Norelands Stud have 26 foals catalogued with nine hailing from Ballymacoll Stud and with the yearling dispersal having been so successful at Book 1 hopes will be high that the Ballymacoll foals will be similarly received. The farm's highest price yearling was a filly by Kingman (GB) out of Justlookdonttouch (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) that sold to Moyglare Stud for 1.7m gns and that filly's full-brother is catalogued as lot 1026. Breeders' Cup winner Islington (Ire) (Sadler's Wells) delivered her ninth filly from nine foals this year and her latest offspring by Oasis Dream (GB) is included as lot 1027. This foal's half-sister by Sea The Stars (Ire) made 550,000 gns at Book 1.

Another feature of the foal sales in general is the opportunity to see a collection of foals by first crop sires and Tattersalls is no different in that there are a number of such stallions well represented. Racing stars of recent years such as Gleneagles (Ire), Golden Horn (GB), Muhaarar (GB), Make Believe (Fr), Free Eagle (Ire), Brazen Beau (Aus) and Night Of Thunder (Ire) are all well represented throughout.

Commenting on the release of the on-line catalogue Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said, “We have already seen the impact of the Ballymacoll Dispersal at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale and the Ballymacoll foals add an extra dimension to the 2017 Tattersalls December Foal Sale for both the pinhookers and the leading racehorse owners who every year make it the most important sale of its type in Europe. The Tattersalls December Foal Sale consistently attracts the cream of the British and Irish foals and this year's catalogue has the quality and diversity to appeal to buyers from throughout the world at all levels of the market.”
