JANE AUSTEN (Tapit) makes her first start for Muir Hut Stables and trainer Mark Glatt. A $750,000 purchase at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling Sale, the gray is out of MGSP Shayjolie (Indian Charlie), who Speedway Stables acquired for $400,000 at the 2015 Keeneland November Sale. The filly's SP second dam produced GI Woodward S. runner-up Mythical Power (Congaree).

Making her debut for trainer Richard Mandella is Quick Brown Fox (Justify). The Spendthrift homebred's dam MGISW Bast (Uncle) went to the farm for $4.2 million–the fourth highest return–at the 2020 Fasig-Tipton November Sale. That was the same auction they took home the sales topper–dual champion Monomoy Girl (Tapizar). Bast is a full-sister to SP Royal Slipper and her extended female family includes GI Santa Margarita S. heroine Fault (Blame) and MGSP South Bend (Algorithms). TJCIS PPS

Clever Again (American Pharoah) makes the races for trainer Steve Asmussen after the colt was purchased by Winchell Thoroughbreds for $500,000 as a yearling during Keeneland September. The bay is out of Irish group stakes winner Flattering (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), who counts as full-sisters Irish GSW Peach Tree (Ire) and G1 Moyglare Stud S. victress Love (Ire).

Facing the boys on debut from Wesley Ward's shedrow is Dreamaway (Flameaway). The John Oxley homebred is out of his GI Del Mar Oaks champ Dream Dancing (Tapit), whose half-sister produced UAE MGSW Kimbear (Temple City). Digging a little deeper into this family, we find third dam and champion older mare Beautiful Pleasure (Maudlin). TJCIS PPS
