Scat Daddy

By

Phoenix Thoroughbreds bought last year's OBS March topper and the operation made their presence known Tuesday, winning a spirited bidding war to take home a filly from the final crop of Scat Daddy (Hip 141), who worked in a snappy :9 4/5 at the breeze show. Consigned by Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds, the May 10 foal is out of the Royal Academy mare Accusation and is a half-sister to GSW Sharp Sensation (Sharp Humor). Bred by Hunter Valley Farm, she was purchased for $160,000 by September Farm at Keeneland November and RNA'd for $335,000 at Keeneland September. Phoenix's American manager Tom Ludt signed the ticket on Hip 141 who will be sent to race in Europe.
