'TDN Rising Star' Pacific Heat took her record to a perfect two-for-two after winning the Golden State Juvenile Fillies S. for a first black-type rosette. Tabbed a 'Rising Star' off a 13 1/2-length demolition of a field of Cal-breds when unveiled at Los Alamitos Race Course Sept. 25, the chalk was allowed to find her footing in this full field of juvenile fillies and was soon sent up five wide to bid for the lead after a half in :46 even. She assumed command with a minimum of fuss without being asked in upper stretch, and strolled home from there to win by daylight. “We knew that she was special when we bought her and she's proven it today,” commented stable spokesman Larry Zap, while trainer Peter Eurton is at Keeneland to saddle Kobe's Back (Flatter) in the GI Breeders' Cup Sprint. “Just a classy filly from day one.” Added jockey Joe Talamo, “I picked up the [mount] and I was lucky they chose me. I was loaded all the way around there. She ran really well. And I don't think distance will be any problem for her. She'll go right on.” The winner's dam foaled colts by Acclamation in 2014 and Unusual Heat this year.
