No Nay Never's Nay Lady Nay Slices Through In Mrs. Revere

Nay Lady Nay | Coady

Nay Lady Nay bullied her way to the lead in the final strides to claim her first graded stakes victory in the GII Mrs. Revere S. at Churchill Downs Friday. Pinched back along the hedge under the wire the first time, the dark bay filly settled in mid-pack behind fractions of :25.54 and :50.25. Tipped to the center of the course at the top of the lane, she forged through a narrow seam between rivals to gain command in deep stretch.

Fourth sprinting over the Belmont lawn in her June 27 debut, Nay Lady Nay graduated over 1 1/16 miles at Monmouth Park Aug. 2 and was second at that same distance back in Elmont in a Sept. 11 optional claimer before scoring a 2 1/2-length victory in the Oct. 7 Parx Fall Oaks last time out.

Pedigree Notes:

Nay Lady Nay is the 10th graded stakes winner–and first in the U.S.–from two crops of racing age for Coolmore's young stallion No Nay Never (Scat Daddy). No Nay Never is also the sire of this year's G1 Darley July Cup winner Ten Sovereigns (Ire), as well as Nay Lady Nay's full-brother and G2 Coventry S. winner Arizona (Ire), who finished fourth in this month's GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. In the U.S., the stallion has been represented by last year's Colleen S. winner Mae Never No (Ire).

Lady Ederle, in foal to Hat Trick (Jpn), sold for $27,000 to Milestone Farm at the 2012 Keeneland November sale. Her Estidhkaar (Ire) yearling filly sold for 50,000gns at this year's Tattersalls October sale. A daughter of Group 1 winner Bright Generation (Ire), Lady Ederle is a half-sister to the dam of European champion juvenile Dabirsim (Fr) (Hat Trick {Jpn}).
