The bay began her career with a pair of tallies–a narrow debut victory at Del Mar last summer and a Churchill allowance victory in her comebacker Apr. 30. She followed her aforementioned disappointing effort at Old Hilltop with a game second to next-out GIII Rancho Bernardo S. third Lady Ninja (Majesticperfection) in a $62,500 optional tagger at Del Mar last time July 19.
Making her first start beyond six furlongs in this two-turn affair, the 2-1 favorite led comfortably through fractions of :23.29 and :46.98 and found another gear in the stretch to win for fun.

Smokey's Love is also represented by the Australian-bred Tapit colt of 2017, who brought A$110,000 from Dynamic Syndications/Dean Watt Bloodstock at the 2019 Magic Millions January Sale. High Fly (Atticus), winner of the GI Florida Derby, appears under Fighting Mad's third dam.
