Bouncing back from a virus which led to his withdrawal from the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois, Vadamos who was last seen winning a 10-furlong Chantilly conditions event on his sole seasonal outing July 12 began his ascension to the big leagues in earnest with a demonstrative display here. First registering a black-type win in last July's Listed Prix Frederic de Lagrange over 12 furlongs at Vichy, the dark bay was too keen when seventh in Longchamp's G2 Prix Niel over the same trip in September but had looked a more mature article on his 4-year-old bow and had earned rave reviews at home subsequently. Settled in fifth initially, he always had his rivals covered and when asked the question by Vincent Cheminaud on the home turn quickly opened up en route to a convincing success. “He can go any trip,” his trainer Andre Fabre said, as he had once of his versatile class act Manduro (Ger). “I would like to go for the [Oct. 17] G1 Champion S. at Ascot with him now.”
