Mission Impazible Colt Runs to the Money at Saratoga

Mission Impazible

6th-SAR, $73,000, (S), Msw, 8-7, 2yo, 6f, 1:11.55, ft.
+BARELY IMPAZIBLE (c, 2, Mission Impazible–Deputy Reality, by Deputy Minister) was bet like a sure thing in his debut at Saratoga and, after looking to be struggling midway through the race, came alive in the stretch to graduate going away. Selling for $285,000 at OBS March–the most expensive Mission Impazible to sell this year and the second-most expensive to ever sell–after breezing a quarter-mile in :21 1/5, the gray was hammered to 6-5 favoritism for this unveiling. Breaking decently, he found a good spot in third, sitting off of dueling leaders through a :22.83 quarter, but was running high-headed and had to be driven midway around the turn. Finding his best stride once straightening for home, the favorite ran by pacesetter Ultimateenticement (Drosselmeyer) at the eighth pole and edged clear late to a 2 1/2-length success over that rival. The winner is a half to Teeth of the Dog (Bluegrass Cat), GSW & GISP, $414,950. His dam produced a filly by Constitution this term before returning to his sire. Sales History: $185,000 Ylg '16 FTKJUL. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $43,800. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
