+ROARING LION (c, 2, Kitten's Joy–Vionnet {GISP-US, $175,140}, by Street Sense) broke in mid division and found a smooth rhythm there through halfway in this debut. Coaxed into contention approaching the final quarter mile, the 7-2 chance quickened smartly to lead passing the eighth pole and ran on strongly up the hill to comfortably account for Abandon Ship (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) by 1 3/4 lengths. Ghostwatch (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), who was the joint-second highest priced yearling at Tattersalls October Book 1 when knocked down for 2.1-million guineas last year, shaped with some promise and finished a further 1 3/4 lengths adrift in third. The $160,000 KEESEP yearling is the first foal out of GI Rodeo Drive S. third Vionnet (Street Sense), who is a daughter of GIII Las Cienegas H. and GIII Senator Ken Maddy H. heroine Cambiocorsa (Avenue of Flags), and therefore kin to four black-type performers headed by GII John C Mabee S. winner Moulin de Mougin (Curlin) and GII Royal Heroine Mile victress Schiaparelli (Ghostzapper). Vionnet has also produced a yearling colt by Medaglia d'Oro and was bred to More Than Ready this year. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $5,827. Video, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
