+RED PERIL (c, 2, Jimmy Creed–Chokoloskee, by Corinthian) backed up a sizzling worktab with a game victory as the favorite in his debut Sunday. Showing a handful of bullet breezes capped off by a five-furlong spin from the gate in 1:01 4/5 (1/14) at Gulfstream West Aug. 12, the chestnut broke as the 6-5 choice and set up shop in second as Hollis (Street Sense) sped off through a :22.39 quarter. That one appeared to have put the favorite away turning for home, but he started to get leg-weary at the sixteenth pole, and Red Peril kept to his task to get up in the waning strides by a half-length. The winner is the eighth for his freshman sire (by Distorted Humor). His dam, a half to GISW Gayego (Gilded Time), is responsible for a yearling colt by Paynter and was bred to Street Boss this spring. Sales History: $2,000 Ylg '16 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $24,000. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
