Speedy Vanessa (American Pharoah) kicks off her career for her breeder Alex G. Campbell Jr. at Keeneland Friday. By the 2015 Triple Crown champ, the filly is out of The Right Pew (Pulpit), dam of seven winners from 10 foals to race, including GI Central Bank Ashland S. winner Karlovy Vary (Dynaformer), who was also bred and campaigned by Campbell. Trained by Graham Motion, who strikes with 16% of his juvenile starters, Speedy Vanessa is fresh off a bullet four-furlong work in :48 flat at Fair Hill Oct. 21. The bay will be partnered by Joe Bravo. Motion also sends Sayyida Al Hurra (Tiznow) postward here. Out of dual stakes-winning Pirate's Trove (Speightstown), the Al Shahania Stud homebred equaled the time of her stablemate in her latest work at Fair Hill Oct. 21. Julien Leparoux gets aboard.
