China's Richest Race Runs Saturday

The A$200,000 Inglis-China Australia Cup Final takes place on Saturday over 1200 metres at Yulong Racecourse in Shanxi. The race, which is the richest in China, has drawn 14 runners sourced from Inglis sales and is part of Inglis's programme to support horse racing in China.

“The Inglis China-Australia Cup has been a positive factor toward the development of racing in China, and has been a great draw card for the importing of Australian-bred horses by Chinese owners,” said Yulong's Zhang Yuesheng. “The Australian-bred horse population in China has increased significantly over the past few years and this has seen the quality of horses racing in China greatly improve.”

Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster added, “Mr Zhang is an industry leader and is now understandably and deservingly known as one of the best in the business. He has developed a first-class racecourse in China but has also become a serious player at the Australian sales over the past few years and we look forward to him enjoying many more successes in years to come.”

Post time for the China-Australia Cup is 5:50 p.m. AEST (3:50 a.m. EST) on Saturday and it can be viewed live here.
