ALWAYS DREAMING (c, 3, Bodemeister–Above Perfection {GSW & GISP, $380,737}, by In Excess {Ire}), third on debut at Belmont July 1, looked home free in the stretch before settling for second going six furlongs at Saratoga Aug. 20 in his final outing for trainer Dominick Schettino. The 1-5 favorite raced between rivals on the front end through an opening quarter in :24.18. He took control after a half in :48.28 and powered clear into the stretch before sailing under the wire 11 1/2 lengths in front. Watch Your Words (Arch) was second. Always Dreaming, a $350,000 KEESEP yearling, is a half-brother to Hot Dixie Chick (Dixie Union, GISW, $343,252). Above Perfection, who RNA'd for $1.15 million at the 2009 Fasig-Tipton November sale, produced a filly by Medaglia d'Oro in 2015 and a filly by Pioneerof the Nile in 2016.
