WATERSHED (c, 3, Bernardini–Thousand Islands {GB} {SW-Fr}, by Dubai Millennium {GB}) returned to the winner's circle for the first time since becoming a 'TDN Rising Star' in an Aug. 7 Spa contest at first asking. Fourth in the GI King's Bishop S. behind Runhappy (Super Saver) there Aug. 29, the bay was pounded down to 2-5 favoritism and made those odds look like a gift. Breaking a step slowly, the sophomore perched well off the rail and loitered near the back with Sharm (Majestic Warrior) to his inside as the leading bunch rattled off fractions of :23.19 and :46.54. Joel Rosario asked Watershed to improve midway on the turn and he duly obliged, making a sweeping five wide move that saw him breathing down the leaders' necks in upper stretch. Taking over shortly thereafter with Sharm (Majestic Warrior) mirroring him to his inside, Watershed won by 1 3/4 lengths over that rival without ever being asked a serious question. The winner is a half to Footbridge (Street Cry {Ire}), GISP, $251,586. Thousand Islands (GB) has a yearling full-brother to Watershed and was bred to Arch this season. Lifetime Record: 3-2-0-0, $114,600. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
