About 30 minutes following the conclusion of Saturday's live racing program at Del Mar, Barretts will stage its annual Paddock Sale, with a pair of recent full black-type winners set to go under the hammer.

Havens Bloodstock Agency, as agent, consigns hip 14, the 2-year-old Louisiana-bred colt Crosscheck Carlos (Custom for Carlos) to the Paddock Sale. Already kin to the stakes winner Flower Lady, Crosscheck Carlos has added to a strong-looking page in two starts this season. A smashing 6 3/4-length maiden winner at first asking at Santa Anita June 12, the bay made the trip into the Bayou for his last start and emerged the head winner of the D. S. “Shine” Young Memorial S. at Evangeline Downs July 16 (video). His earnings now stand at $78,600.

Havens Bloodstock also consigns hip 17, California Diamond (Harbor the Gold), who validated favoritism to graduate first time out at Santa Anita June 17 and more recently came from just off the pace to land the $125,000 Santa Anita Juvenile S. July 9 (video).

Patriotic Diamond (Hat Trick {Jpn}), consigned by Patrick L. Biancone Racing as agent as hip 15, could also appeal to the regional California buyer. A 3-year-old daughter of SW Patriotic Viva (Whywhywhy), the dark bay won the 2015 Generous Portion S. at Del Mar and finished runner-up to Barretts grad and TDN Rising Star Pacific Heat (Unusual Heat) in the California Cup Oaks at Santa Anita in January.

For the first time, an under-tack preview for the Paddock Sale was held Friday at Del Mar. Videos and the full catalogue can be viewed here. Due to the late start time of the event, full results will be included in Monday's TDN.
