American Pharoah to Stand for $200K

Triple Crown hero and recent GI Breeders' Cup Classic winner American Pharoah (Pioneerof the Nile–Littleprincessemma, by Yankee Gentleman), who raced for Zayat Stables and trainer Bob Baffert, will stand for $200,000 at Ashford Stud, Coolmore's Kentucky branch, the stud announced Friday morning.
The 2014 champion juvenile male and likely Horse of the Year and champion sophomore male officially retired to Ashford Monday, Nov. 2, and sported a record of 11-9-1-0 with $8,650,300 in earnings. In addition to wins in the GI Kentucky Derby, GI Xpressbet.com Preakness S., GI Belmont S., GI William Hill Haskell Invitational S., GI Arkansas Derby, GI FrontRunner S., and GI Del Mar Futurity, American Pharoah won the GII Rebel S. at Oaklawn Park and was runner up in the GI Travers S. this August at Saratoga.

In addition to American Pharoah, GI Hopeful S. and GIII Pat Day Mile S. victor Competitive Edge (Super Saver–Magdalena's Chase, by Cape Town) will stand his first seasonfor $12,500. Ashford veteran Giant's Causeway (Storm Cat)'s fee remains unchanged at $85,000, while Scat Daddy (Johannesburg) has enjoyed a banner year at the track with his progeny and will hold court for $100,000, up from $35,000. Uncle Mo (Indian Charlie), currently first on the freshman sire list, will stand for three times his 2015 fee of $25,000, at $75,000.
