Takaya Shimakawa, an organic foods entrepreneur and longtime active buyer at the Japan Racing Horse Association sales, could not resist a chance to obtain a full brother to his talented three-year-old Tosen Stardom (Jpn), bidding ﾥ220 million ($2,156,863) for a foal by Deep Impact (Jpn) out of Admire Kirameki (Jpn) (End Sweep). The affable Shimakawa said that when he first saw this year's sale catalog, “I thought I had to buy this one.” The colt's family also includes Shimakawa's GI winner Tosen Jordan (Jpn) (Jungle Pocket {Jpn}) and GII winner Tosen Homareboshi (Jpn) (Deep Impact).
