36 years ago, Patrick Biancone trained the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner, Sagace. When he saw a horse who reminded him of his former champion at the OBS April 2yo sale, he bought him as a birthday present for his daughter, Andie, who is also his assistant trainer. Now, Sole Volante is turning out to be one heck of a gift.

Patrick Biancone pulled off the improbable last Saturday in the GII Fountain of Youth S. at Gulfstream, winning a major prep for the GI Kentucky Derby with a horse who cost relatively little at the sales and appeared headed for a career on the grass. Now, can he do it all over again?
