Thoughtfully (Tapit), a $950,000 purchase by Heider Family Stables last summer at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga, was bet down to odds-on debuting Thursday at Churchill and ran to the money with a dominant score to become the latest 'TDN Rising Star'. Showing a quintet of works at Keeneland for trainer Steve Asmussen capped by a half-mile gate breeze in :47 1/5 (3/29) June 2, the dark bay was backed at 7-10 and led early before deferring to sit third. Inching closer past a :22.65 quarter, she drew on even terms at the top of the lane and took charge soon after straightening. Given mild encouragement by Ricardo Santana, Jr., she poured it on in the final furlong and powered past the wire 8 3/4 lengths to the good of Prodigy Doll (Shanghai Bobby). The winner is a half to Annual Report (Harlan's Holiday), GSW, $186,587; Giant Payday (Giant's Causeway), MSW, $331,299; and Flores Island (Giant's Causeway), MSP, $244,070. Her second dam is GISW Furlough (Easy Goer), a half-sister to MGISW Dancing Spree (Nijinsky II), GISW Fantastic Find (Mr. Prospector)-who produced MGISW Finder's Fee (Storm Cat)-and Oh What a Dance (Nijinsky II), dam of champion Heavenly Prize (Seeking the Gold). Her dam produced her full-brother this term.
