ARC And Sky Sports Racing Release Statement On UIR

After the news that the United Irish Racecourses (UIR) rejected a media rights deal earlier this week, Arena Racing Company (ARC) and Sky Sports Racing released a statement in support of the UIR on Thursday. The two companies will be negotiating with Horse Racing Ireland (HRI), UIR, and the Association of Irish Racecourses (AIR) for the UIR's media rights in the near future. For the first time in history, Irish racing looks set to have two separate providers of pictures after five racecourses rejected a media rights deal on Tuesday. At a groundbreaking general meeting of the Association of Irish Racecourses (AIR) held at the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge, the five members of the United Irish Racecourses (UIR) voted against the five-year deal worth €47 million.
