It's been quite a week for the 3-year-old colt Carillo (Union Rags). He captured his debut at Aqueduct in 'TDN Rising Star'-fashion last Friday and summoned a whopping $875,000 from bloodstock agent Lauren Carlisle at Keeneland January Thursday. The Paul Pompa homebred sold as part of the complete dispersal of that late owner and breeder's estate, which was handled by Lane's End Farm.
Shortly after her barnmate Danceforthecause (Giant's Causeway) summoned $925,000, Deceptive Vision (A.P. Indy) provided Sam-Son Farm with another lucrative sale when summoning $900,000 from John Sikura, who signed as Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa. Hip 598 is part of the dispersal of Sam-Son's broodmare band. The 11-year-old mare sold in foal to War Front.
MGSW Regal Glory (Animal Kingdom--Mary's Follies, by More Than Ready) sparked early fireworks at Keeneland Tuesday, summoning $925,000 from Peter Brant's White Birch Farm just three hips into the session. The 5-year-old mare was consigned by Lane's End as part of the complete dispersal of the Estate of Paul Pompa, Jr.
Surrender (Stormy Atlantic), dam of recent GIII Bob Hope S. winner Red Flag (Tamarkuz) who is in foal to Catholic Boy; Red Flag's half-brother foaled in 2020; and Exotic Notion (Lemon Drop Kid), a half-sister to multiple Grade I winner City of Light who is in foal to Quality Road, are among the nine horses supplemented to Book 1 of the 2021 Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale, which covers four sessions from Jan. 11-14.
