The two-day Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale concluded on Thursday with a filly by Sioux Nation heading the final session at €72,000. Consigned by Noel O'Callaghan's Mountarmstrong Stud, lot 663 is a granddaughter of the G3 Prix du Bois winner Ela Merici (Fr)  (Beaudelaire {Fr}) and was bought by the father-and-son team of Con and Neil Sands of Bronson Racing. The 2022 edition of the Goffs Million has drawn 24 horses to the Curragh for the seven-furlong race on Saturday, Sept. 24. Now worth €1.234 million, up from the original purse of €1 million, the race consists of 12 Irish-trained entries and a like number of British-trained entries, and is open exclusively to Goffs Orby Yearling Sale alumni. The Goffs Orby Sale catalogue, offering 11 yearlings by the late Galileo (Ire), is now online. Set for Kildare Paddocks on Sept. 27-28, the sale will send 511 yearlings through the ring over the two days, starting at 9:30 a.m. each morning. Demand remained strong on the second day of the Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale and Shadwell Estate's Derrinstown Stud continued to sit firmly atop the leading consignor standings. Three of the top four lots on Wednesday and eight of the top 10 lots over the two days were ultimately offered by Derrinstown. The Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale holds the unique distinction of being the only yearling sale to take place in Ireland in 2020, and the catalogue for the 2020 edition is now online.
