German Champions League Unveiled

Eleven German group races–including all seven of the country's Group 1s–will comprise the German Racing Champions League Series, which will score the first through fifth-placed horses in each race in a points system and offer prizes for the leading horse, trainer and jockey at the end of the season. The points available will increase 50% for the final race of the series, the G1 Grosser Preis von Bayern Nov. 1, and the series prizes will be awarded in a ceremony after that race.

The other races in the series are the G2 Gerling-Preis May 8; the G2 Grosser Preis Badischen Unternehm May 29; the G2 Oppenheim Union-Rennen June 19; the G1 Deutsches Derby July 10; the G1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis July 31; the G1 Henkel-Preis der Diana Aug. 7; the G1 Grosser Preis von Berlin Aug. 14; the G1 Longines Grosser Preis von Baden Sept. 4; the G1 Preis von Europa Sept. 25; and the G3 Preis der Deutschen Einheit Oct. 3. All of the races in the series are over distances of 2000 to 2400 metres.
