Raul Reyes of King's Equine sent out two of the four bullet furlong workers at the final day of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's Spring Sale breeze show Saturday.

“They both breezed well, no surprises,” Reyes said. “They have both been training well all around.”

One of Reyes's bullet workers was Hip 1179, a NY-bred son of Honor Code (video). Consigned on behalf of breeder Pine Ridge Stables, the colt is out of the stakes-placed Indian Charlie mare Indian Rush, who is also responsible for stakes winner's March X Press (Shanghai Bobby) and Harlan's Honor (Harlan's Holiday).

“I think he takes after the mother,” Reyes said of the Hip 1179. “The gentleman who bred him said the other colts from that mare also had a lot of speed.”

A colt from the first crop of California Chrome (Hip 1311) also breezed in :9 4/5 for Reyes Saturday. Bred and owned by BlackRidge Stables, the bay colt is out of stakes winner Jut Got In (Songandaprayer).

“I love the California Chromes because they have a great demeanor,” said Reyes. “They all want to do something. They are very forward horses.”

Hip 1103 from the Off the Hook consignment also breezed in :9 4/5. The Uncle Mo filly is out of Great Attraction (El Prado {Ire}), a daughter of champion Golden Attraction (Mr. Prospector). Bred by Grousemont Farm, she RNA'd for $17,000 at Keeneland September.

Rounding out the quartet of furlong bullet breezers was Hip 1306, a colt from the first crop of Speightster (video). The Hunter Valley-bred colt is out of SP Holy Dazzle (Holy Bull) and as purchased by consignor Randy Bradshaw for $150,000 at FTKJUL.

A pair of juvenile breezed a quarter-mile in a co-bullet :20 3/5: Hip 1308 (video) and Hip 1310 (video). Hailing from the Wavertree Stables consignment, which sent out four :20 3/5 breezers and a :20 2/5 workers Friday, Hip 1308 is a daughter of red hot sire Into Mischief. Bred by Springhouse Farm and Crosshaven Bloodstock, she RNA'd for $335,000 at FTSAUG.

Hip 1310 is from another consignment that has sent out plenty of fast workers this week in Eddie Woods. The Malibu Moon filly was bred in Florida by Westbury Stables and was purchased by Quarter Pole Enterprises for $260,000 at FTKJUL.

“She is a lovely filly and has always been a lovely filly,” Woods said. “She was scheduled originally to go to Miami [for the Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale], but that didn't happen. She worked as well as expected, galloped out fantastic and is fantastically good-looking.”
