Smiling Tiger Colt Tops 2017 WTOBA Sale

John and Janene Maryanski went to $67,000 to purchase the 2017 WTOBA Summer Yearling and Mixed Sale topper, a yearling bay colt by 2017 California freshman sire leader Smiling Tiger (Hip 92).

Bred by Yakima horseman John Roche and consigned through Halvorson Bloodstock Services LLC, the colt is a half-brother to seven winners, including Washington champion 3-year-old filly Castinette Dancer (Ministers Wild Cat) and stakes winner Seattles Best Copy (Demon Warlock). He is out of the Supremo mare Premo Copy.

The Maryanskis were the leading buyers at the sale, spending $155,000 on three head.

A total of 92 yearlings switched hands for a gross of $1,204,600, an average of $13,093 (-23.16%) and a median of $7,500 (-50%). For complete results, visit http://washingtonthoroughbred.com/sales/.
