Holiday Disguise made it three victories in a row with a flying finish to capture the first stakes win of her young career. Showing late interest to be fourth on debut Mar. 18 at Aqueduct, the $220,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga graduate scored next out there Apr. 9 and dominated a state-bred first-level allowance by 6 3/4 lengths here May 7. Made the second choice at a nickel above 3-1 in this stakes debut, the bay settled in eighth as Noble Freud showed the way through a sharp :22.64 quarter. Starting to rev up at the five-sixteenths pole, Holiday Disguise swung into the six-path at the top of the lane and steadily closed to reel in the pacesetter with 50 yards remaining for a convincing tally. The winner's dam, a half to New York-bred staple Naughty New Yorker (Quiet American), is responsible for a juvenile Midnight Lute filly, a yearling colt by Verrazano and foaled a Tiznow filly Apr. 5. “This filly is getting more professional, obviously,” trainer Linda Rice said. “She's got a great disposition, good mind for it. She lays back and really puts in a strong stretch run, so she's proved that she'll just get better with more experience.” Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
