Young Snags Miss Temple City for $2.5M

Miss Temple City (Temple City-Glittering Tax, by Artax), who was bought back on a bid of $10,000 at the 2013 Keeneland January Sale, fared slightly better Monday evening at Fasig-Tipton November, where she was purchased by Steve Young, agent, for $2.5 million to take the lead at the sale's midway point. The 5-year-old was consigned as hip 99 by Select Sales as agent for The Club Racing LLC and partners, for whom she made history in 2016, beating the boys in both the GI Maker's 46 Mile and the GI Shadwell Turf Mile. Winner of the GIII Kentucky Downs Ladies' Turf earlier this year, Miss Temple City heads off to the breeding shed with seven wins from 20 starts and earnings of $1,680,091.
