+LADY ALEXANDRA (f, 2, More Than Ready–Lophorina {GB}, by King's Best), sent off at 2-1 in this off-the-turf unveiling, chased the pace while three wide through a quarter in :23.00. She moved to challenge the pacesetter nearing the top of the stretch, surging to the lead in upper stretch and opening a clear advantage before just holding off the late rush of Divine Miss Gray (Divine Park) to win by a neck. Favored main-track-only entrant In It for the Gold (Speightstown) stumbled at the break and trailed the field early. She made a four-wide bid in upper stretch before flattening out and finishing 11 ½ lengths back in third. Lophorina, purchased by Brookdale Sales for €110,000 at the 2010 Arqana December sale, is a daughter of Italian Group 1 winner and multiple Group 1 placed Flagbird (Nureyev), who produced the dam of Grade I winner Little Belle (A.P. Indy). That mare is also a half-sister to multiple Grade I winner Prospectors Delite (Mr. Prospector), the dam of Horse of the Year Mineshaft (A.P. Indy) and Grade I winner Tomisue's Delight (A.P. Indy), as well as to Grade I winner Runup the Colors (A.P. Indy), the dam of multiple graded stakes winner Revolutionary (War Pass). Lophorina produced a filly by Animal Kingdom in 2015 and was bred to Candy Ride (Arg) this year.
