The Middleburg Training Center in Middleburg, Virginia will play host to a “Celebrate the Thoroughbred Journey” event Saturday, Nov. 19 to welcome Valerie Ashker and Peter Friedman after their mounted trip across the country on retired racehorses, the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) announced Monday. The trek, which began in California May 9, was designed to raise awareness for the versatility, soundness and character of the American Thoroughbred. Ashker has ridden her OTTB Primitivo throughout the journey, while Friedman has been aboard Ashker's 17-year-old OTTB Solar Express.
