Three more jockeys have thrown their names into the hat for the inaugural Lady Jockeys’ Thoroughbred World Championship at Bro Park in Sweden on July 4. Ana O’Brien, daughter of Aidan O’Brien, will represent Ireland in the five-race series, while Sammy Jo Bell has accepted an invitation to represent the UK and Sara Slot will ride for Denmark. The Championships will host riders from Asia, Europe, North America and Australasia.
Dennis Madsen, Svensk Galopp’s Director of Racing, said, “We are delighted with the line-up so far and are looking forward to what will surely be a highly competitive event. The Lady Jockeys’ Thoroughbred World Championship will focus international attention on racing in Sweden and provide an opportunity for us to showcase some of our best facilities and the quality of our sport.”
