The Factor Colt Remains Perfect at Tampa

The Factor | Lee Thomas

ACTION EVERYDAY (c, 3, The Factor–Tina's Goal, by El Corredor) graduated on debut with a decisive four-length score here Dec. 23 and was hammered down to 1-5 favoritism to make it two in a row in this test. Seizing the early advantage, the $400,000 EASMAY buy ticked off a comfortable first quarter in :24.12. Overtaken by an eager Stapleton (Tapizar), the bay stalked from second through a half in :47.47 and resumed command approaching the turn for home. Kicking clear in the lane, the sophomore seemed to stall a bit as he floated out a few paths and briefly looked like he may be caught by a late-running Giant Payday (Giant's Causeway), but held that rival at bay by a length at the wire. The final time was 1:42.20. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0.
