HARTFORD (c, 4, Tapit–Tempting Note {MSP}, by Editor's Note) made a winning return to the races from a nearly 19-month layoff to remain undefeated. A $700,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase, the hulking gray pressed the pace and drew off smartly to annex his debut over this distance at Gulfstream Park in January 2014 and was sent to the sidelines following that effort. Tabbed as the 2-1 favorite in this spot, he established position tracking the pace along the inside as Day of Fury (Street Sense) dictated a controlled pace through fractions of :23.91 and :47.24. Angled a bit off the rail turning for home, the 4-year-old dove back inside in search of a clear path and rallied to catch the pacesetter on the wire by a half-length. The winner is a full to Dance Card, GISW, $502,200; and Tempted to Tapit, MGSP, $234,995. Tempting Note produced two more colts by Tapit over the last two seasons and was bred to Tapizar (Tapit) for the 2016 season. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $75,000.
