Valadorna backed up a promising debut performance with an effortless romp on opening day at Keeneland to become the latest 'TDN Rising Star'. Off slowly from the rail in her unveiling going a main track mile Sept. 16 at Churchill, the Stonestreet homebred made an eye-catching move to finish fast for second money behind GI Darley Alcibiades entrant Sweet Bernardina (Bernardini). Bet down to 4-5 off that effort, Valadorna was hung four wide heading into the clubhouse turn before dropping over to the two path to travel seventh onto the backstretch with a solid pace of :23.21 and :47.14 materializing up top.

Moving willingly three wide on the far bend, the favorite inhaled the leaders straightening for home and skipped away to a 6 1/4-length score in 1:44.47. Clever Serve (To Honor and Serve) was up for second at 91-1. The winner's unraced dam is a half to GSW Springside (Awesome Again) and is out of GSP Folly Dollar. Third dam Real Precious is a half to MGSW Real Cash (Tank's Prospect). Goldfield is responsible for a yearling colt by Ghostzapper who went for $125,000 at KEESEP and foaled a Maclean's Music colt this term before being bred back to Astrology. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $44,600. Click for the Equibase.com chart or Equineline.com catalogue-style pedigree. VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
