Soul Stirring Returns Saturday

Unbeaten 3-year-old filly Soul Stirring (Jpn), who became the first Group 1 winner for her sire Frankel (GB) when taking last year's Hanshin Juvenile Fillies in Japan, takes her first step towards the Apr. 9 G1 Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas) when she lines up in Saturday's G3 Tulip Sho at Hanshin. A field of 12 has signed on for the one-mile contest, and those opposing Soul Stirring include G3 Artemis S. winner and Hanshin Juvenile Fillies second Lys Gracieux (Jpn) (Heart's Cry {Jpn}); and Jan. 17 Kobai S. one-two Alonza Mona (Jpn) (Street Sense) and Entry Ticket (Jpn) (Matsurida Gogh).

Last year's champion 2-year-old filly in Japan, Soul Stirring is out of the French Classic winner and American champion grass mare Stacelita (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}), the winner of six Grade/Group 1 races.
